Children start thinking in categories at a very early age. They know what to get when someone says, “Get your toys.” or “Get your clothes.” As they get older, they identify higher-level categories by actions (things that fly, sail, growl, etc.) and by modifers (things that are sweet, sour, hot, cold). These activities combine higher-level categories with inferences (hints) and context clues (specific vocabulary). 60 reproducible pages. Language Age: 5-8
