Description

Teaching HONESTY Through Fairy Tales is the first book in the Teaching Values through Fairy Tales series.

The Pied Piper, Rumpelstiltskin, Three Golden Flowers and Frog Prince are four captivating fairy tales used to help students begin to understand what a value is and how values are presented in texts. A number of carefully designed activity pages are included to encourage students to recognise how each fairy tale promotes the value of honesty and to recognise the consequences of being dishonest. The activity pages are delightfully and meaningfully illustrated to hold students’ interest and prompt them to practise careful listening and reading skills. To make life easy for the teacher the answers are provided at the back of this book.

Teaching KINDNESS Through Fairy Tales is the second book in the Teaching Values through Fairy Tales series.

The Enchanted Princess, Rip Van Winkle and Snow White and Rose Red are four entertaining fairy tales which are guaranteed to captivate your students. Through these stories, students are encouraged to recognise the importance of kindness as a value and understand what a value is and the different ways that they can be highlighted in texts. Each activity page is visually appealing and gives students the opportunity to develop their listening, reading and creative skills. Answers are provided at the back of this book.

Teaching SELF-ESTEEM Through Fairy Tales is the third and final book in the Teaching Values through Fairy Tales series.

Snow White and The Seven Dwarves, The Emperor and His New Clothes, The Farmer, His Son and The Donkey and The Ugly Duckling, are engaging stories which will help students understand the importance of having high self-esteem and about the consequences of having a poor self-image. Through the careful construction of each activity page, students are given the opportunity to demonstrate their literacy skills and to recognise that all texts, in different ways, promote values. Answers are provided at the back of this book.
