Drama Lessons In Action
25 lessons taught through improvisation.
This resource is suitable for classroom and assembly use for teachers of junior and secondary age pupils with lessons taught through improvisation. These are not presented as "model lessons" but are intended to provide ideas for adaptation and further development. Warm-up and speech exercises are included and many themes are developed though feelings such as timidity, resentfulness, sensitivity and suspicion.
The material can be used by groups of varying sizes and pupils are asked to respond to interesting texts from a diverse selection of well-known authors including Roald Dahl, Ogden Nash, Ted Hughes, Michael Rosen, Oscar Wilde and John Betjeman.
The drama lessons are fun and pupils are given the opportunity to share experiences, act and engage in role-play to help develop the essential skills of speaking and listening.
