This practical resource provides exciting ideas and activities for early childhood practitioners. It includes display ideas and poems as well as art, language, cultural and physical activities. All the activities in this book have been developed with young children in mind. This resource offers early childhood educators broad themes based around times of the year.

- The New Year
The hands-on activities are a fun way to assist children to develop their skills. The ready to use templates are great for individual or group work with a teacher. The topics provided assist with the ease of integration into the Te Whãriki curriculum. Children will develop skills in literacy, numeracy, the arts, music and drama, cultural and social skills as well as physical development.
There are 7 topic areas with a display and activity page to contribute to each, plus 6 specific learning skills belonging to each topic. These are highlighted in the Learning Areas cross-reference chart. Practitioners will enjoy the ease with which they can apply this resource. All or just some of the ideas may be used with the children in your early childhood setting. All pages may be photocopied, allowing busy teachers to spend more time with the children knowing they are gaining knowledge from the activity.
