This is followed by questions and activities related to aspects of the whole world –continents, oceans and seas, highlands and lowlands, rivers and lakes, climate, countries, where people live, languages, religion and living standards. Next, the students’ own country (New Zealand or Australia) is covered in some detail – the highlands and lowlands, rivers and lakes, rainfall, cities and population density. Then some relevant countries are studied in less detail (land and population features): Indonesia, Western Samoa and the Cook Islands, China, India, Japan, the USA, Chile, the UK, South Africa and finally, the continent of Antarctica.
