The Inclusion Toolkit  is an accessible and user-friendly resource for use in mainstream education.

In Book A: Planning, Thorburn  outlines good planning procedures for addressing the needs of students who experience special educational needs.

While she acknowledges the challenges and difficulties involved in the inclusion process, Thorburn guides the readers through the initial IEP meetings, the writing of goals and implementation of agreed plans in a clear and concise manner.

Book B: Troubleshooting lists over sixty practical tips for facilitating inclusion in the mainstream classroom.  Dealing wiith behaviour concerns, educational achievement and teacher stress, this trouble-shooting guide will effectively support efforts to include in a realistic manner.  Perhaps the best aspect of this resource is the troubleshooting index where specific challenges are linked to particular tips making this a user-friendly resource.

While both books complement each other very well, Book B: Troubleshooting provides the most practical advice.
