Dyspraxia/DCD Ireland was originally established in 1995 as ‘The Dyspraxia Association of Ireland’ by parents and family members of children with Dyspraxia/DCD. The organisation now operates under the name Dyspraxia/DCD Ireland and provides a wide range of supports and services to children, young people and adults with Dyspraxia/DCD, as well as their families and supporters.

In addition, Dyspraxia/DCD Ireland works with a broad network of professionals – including teachers, psychologists, occupational therapists, mental health practitioners and employers – who support individuals with Dyspraxia/DCD across various settings.

The Next Adventure

Dr Dorothy Armstrong is the author of this book – The Next Adventure. The book was commissioned and published by Dyspraxia DCD Ireland.

The book acts as an extensive guide to students with DCD/Dyspraxia making the transition from primary to secondary school. It includes testimonies of the lived experience of students who have made the transition themselves, as well as guides for the everyday challenges of secondary school life.

The book was launched by Regina Doherty (Fine Gael TD and then Government Chief Whip).
